1.Asteroid Gym Pants
These are possibly the coolest sweat pants ever. Whoever had the idea to transfer the Asteroids’ design to vintage workout pants is a nerd-genius! For those of you who don’t know, these are pants designed after the 1979 Atari game called Asteroids. Players had to dodge and shoot asteroids to amass points. The material of these awesome pants is light and breathable, perfect for keeping cool and dry during an intense thumb workout.
2.Warp Zone Bonus Round
The indie game VVVVVV by Anders Ekermo was a recent cult favourite. A pair of knitted socks with a picture of Captain Veridian, the games protagonist, sold for $10 200 on Ebay. This was great news until the highest bidder refused to pay, along with the other top ten bidders. Eventually, the socks sold for $320 and a total amount of auctioned goods totaling $600 was donated to the Child’s Play Charity.
3.Mario Bros Pullover
If the smile on this handsome fellow’s face doesn’t say it all, let me tell you that this Mario Bros. vest will have geek ladies everywhere throwing their Koopa bras at you.
4.Four Fingered Pac Man Ring
The only thing bling about this ring is the sound Pacman makes when he collects the dots. I have to give this set of rings credit because Pacman is a classic game and has stood the test of time. The only thing that is left to do with piece of jewelry is to get it in the next 50 Cent music video.
5.Tetris Necktie
Add a dash of class and impress all the geekerellas with your Tetris necktie. Though game developers don’t usually wear ties we still feel this is a staple item that should be in every man’s tie collection.
6.Super Mario Cuff Links
Originally, the star was an item in Mario Bros. that granted Mario invincibility. Now, the star has been adapted to fit on your dress shirt as cuff links. Unfortunately, they do not provide invincibility. NOTE: we are not liable for physical or psychological injuries that may occur when jumping on turtles or mushrooms while wearing these cuff links.
7.Motherboard Headband
Show your love for Mother Earth and Mother Board with this stylish motherboard headband for her. Not only does it support the green movement by reusing a computer’s motherboard, it looks fashionable too. Just to warn all the girl friends of game developers: try and act surprised when you get an outdated graphics attached to a rubber band for Christmas this year. Remember, it’s the thought that counts.
8.Nintendo Gameboy Tube Dress
Girls struggling to win over the attention of their video game playing boyfriends have found the solution to their problem in the form of a tight, tubey Gameboy dress. This tube dress is perfect for warm summer nights or even for going clubbing during GDC or PAX. Note however that the costumes during these conferences can get a lot crazier than a vintage Gameboy tube dress.
9.Toad Charm Bracelet
Toad is Princess Peach’s personal attendant and long time protector of the Mushroom Kingdom. He guides Mario across his adventure by providing useful information and warning him of dangers ahead. Sport your very own Toad charm bracelet in honour of the Mighty wee mushroom.
